About The Author

Juan A. Ayala-Carmona is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America and retired prison chaplain. He received his bachelor's degree in comparative religions from the State University of New York, a master's degree in theology from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in theological studies from the Colgate Rochester Divinity School.

Dr.  Carmona has served as a pastor and a college professor. He has taught history and religion at various institutions of higher education.  He is the father of three children (Geoffrey, Jennica, and Jessica).  He presently lives with his wife Ruth in Raleigh, North Carolina.
